With the government imposing yet more restrictions on the country in the battle against coronavirus, many have been left uncertain, upset and angry by how those in power have been dealing with the crisis.
The pandemic has not only taken a toll our healthcare system, but on education, mental health and the economy.
From tiered lockdowns and curfews, to pub closures and shielding, everyone’s lives have been affected by the more stringent rules. Mixed messages from ministers, errors with Covid Test and Trace apps and struggles to prevent rule breaking have meant that some are simply feeling overwhelmed. Meanwhile, the recent implementation of tiered local lockdowns has been controversial, with Parliament facing resistance from some regional leaders who argue the system is unfair.
To help our readers make sense of it all, Mirror columnist Susie Boniface AKA Fleet Street Fox will be joined by our Online Political Editor Dan Bloom for the latest edition of The News Agenda Explained, live and direct on Monday October 19 at 9am on the Daily Mirror’s Facebook page. The pair will be discussing the big political headlines of the day and how they affect you, including the newest batch of lockdown measures that have been rolled out across the UK.
Tune in to watch Susie and Dan examine how the current rules affect various parts of the country, while also taking a look at the political, social and financial ramifications of Boris Johnson’s decisions.
How have you been affected by the latest coronavirus restrictions? Do you support the current rules? Should there be another national lockdown?
