DANBURY — Santa Claus doesn’t want to get COVID.

That’s why the Danbury Fair Mall is encouraging families to make an appointment and follow safety measures to visit St. Nick.

Children will not be allowed to sit on Santa’s lap, but “will still have the opportunity to engage in conversation and a magical experience with Santa, while maintaining physical distance,” Cherry Hill Programs states on its website.

Masks are required for those 2 and up. Disinfection and sanitation will be increased.

Families must keep six feet apart from others, with physical barriers set up where that is not possible.

Appointments are available online beginning Nov. 20. Walk-up visits will be available as space allows throughout the day.
