The newest episode of Tomorrow’s World Today focuses on how more people turn to supplements to support wellness and performance goals.

So you’ve made the decision to start working out. You bought the shoes, joined the gym, started the fitness log, and are reading everything you can about fitness and nutrition. Suddenly you’re inundated with information and two words that have never been part of your vocabulary–let alone part of your diet–are everywhere: whey protein.

But isn’t that just for professional athletes? The more you research whey protein, though, the more you’re convinced that you should incorporate it into your life. But where does it come from?

In Episode 6 of Season 3, Tomorrow’s World Today learns more about OPTIMUM NUTRITION® and GOLD STANDARD 100% WHEY. Viewers will join field reporter Tamara Krinsky on a journey to learn about whey, which is the liquid part of milk that separates during the cheese-making process, and how it is turned into a protein powder that helps fuel athletes around the world.

OPTIMUM NUTRITION is owned by Glanbia, the global nutrition group that is one of the largest cheese and dairy producers in the world. Glanbia, whose name literally translates to “clean food,” has the purpose of delivering better nutrition for every step of life’s journey, and this especially holds true when it comes to the creation of whey protein powder. As more and more consumers are concerned with how products are made, Glanbia and OPTIMUM NUTRITION can quell any fears through their strong commitment to bringing quality products to consumers.

TWT viewers will learn that to create a high-quality whey protein, the process humbly begins on a farm. Krinsky visits Glanbia’s Cheese Manufacturing Plant in Twin Falls, Idaho, which is one of the largest whey protein manufacturers in the world. From there, the product moves to the OPTIMUM NUTRITION Global Headquarters in Downers Grove, Illinois where scientists work to ensure that the product the consumer receives meets the GOLD STANDARD 100% WHEY guidelines.

“As fitness continues to grow so does the popularity of protein. At the same time, choosing a protein powder for most of us can be overwhelming at best,” said Jay Jacobsen, Director, Global Brand Education and Advocacy, Glanbia Performance Nutrition / Optimum Nutrition. “Collaborating with Tomorrows World Today is an incredibly exciting opportunity for us to help demystify the confusing world of whey protein and show clearly the reasons from start to finish why Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey Protein is the most awarded best-selling whey protein powder in the world.”

In this fitness and nutrition-focused episode, viewers will also meet Julian. Julian isn’t a professional athlete; like many of us, he simply wants to make fitness and nutrition a priority in his life. Also like many of us, he’s intimidated by the idea of adding supplements to his routine but he works with OPTIMUM NUTRITION ambassador athletes to develop a wellness program that will allow him to reap the benefits of fitness and nutrition changes by incorporating a balanced diet and regular exercise routine, along with OPTIMUM NUTRITION products, into his daily life.
